Exploring Seattle: Chihuly Garden & Glass

Strategically poised in the shadow of the Space Needle in Seattle Center, Chihuly Garden & Glass is a landmark in its own right.  Exhibits range from lovely yet traditional museum displays; to stunning full-room masterpieces carefully designed by the artist to accentuate each line, curve, and intricate detail through skillful placement and extraordinary lighting techniques; and-- my personal favorite-- a spectacular outdoor garden punctuating Seattle's natural beauty with fine artwork brilliantly positioned to reflect different aspects of the Seattle Skyline. With the first step into the garden, colorful orbs quickly transform into flowers, bursting among the year-round greenery of the gardens; yet in the next moment, the very flower becomes a gazing ball reflecting the sky, the people, and-- most breathtaking of all, the Seattle Space Needle itself.
